BCLUW girls upset AGWSR

ACKLEY- The late season charge by the BCLUW girls’ basketball team marched on with a 40-33 win over state-ranked AGWSR here Friday during the North Iowa Cedar League West Conference finale.

The victory was a third straight in league play for the Comets to take third at 7-4, and a sixth win in the last eight games to wrap-up the regular season 10-9.

“This is huge getting third. We were not picked for that, so it is nice,” stated BCLUW coach David Lee.

Lock-down defense was again the difference maker for BCLUW, checking the Cougars to single figures the first three quarters. The Comets then allowed 10 points in the fourth, snapped a string of 13 consecutive quarters of allowing nine or less points.
